Schools Wanted for Speech Bubbles EEF/RSA Research Trial

Speech Bubbles is an in-school KS1 intervention using drama to support children's communication skills, confidence and wellbeing. London Bubble are currently recruiting 10 South London schools to take part in an Education Endowment Foundation/Royal Society of Arts research trial of Speech Bubbles in 2018/19.

In 2018-2019 9000 pupils in 400 schools across England will take part in trials to find out if different cultural learning approaches can help boost primary pupils’ achievement.

Speech Bubbles is one of five projects chosen to be part of the Learning About Culture research programme led by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) and the Royal Society of Arts (RSA).

The Royal Academy of Dance’s Dance for Primary School CPD workshop

This workshop equips primary school staff (with and without prior dance experience) with the knowledge, understanding and skills to design creative, safe, stimulating and inclusive dance activities within the PE National Curriculum.

Tender Education & Arts is commissioning an external evaluation of their pilot to consult young people, teaching staff, parents, wider community partners and stakeholders in the development of a Whole School Approach framework to prevent Violence Against Women and Girls and Serious Youth Violence in the London borough of Croydon. Deadline 15 January 2018.

In December 2016 Tender Education and Arts was commissioned by the Mayor’s Office of Policing and Crime (MOPAC) to consult young people, teaching staff, parents, wider community partners and stakeholders in the development of a Whole School Approach framework to prevent Violence Against Women and Girls and Serious Youth Violence in the London borough of Croydon. The framework will now be delivered over a 3 year pilot period in a number of Croydon schools.

People's Health Trust look at the role that arts can play in supporting health and wellbeing

As the arts sector continues to face major funding cuts, it becomes even more important to evidence the powerful contribution the arts can have on people’s lives.

This article shows examples their arts projects around the country and the positive impacts on the health and well-being of their participants.  

'There is a need for more rigorous evaluation to demonstrate the positive impacts arts-based projects can have. If this is not delivered, the important role they can play in addressing many health and wellbeing challenges, as well as in saving the care sector money, risks being overlooked.
